Are there Ayurvedic Remedies for Joint Pain?

As a person ages, pains in the joints become more common. These joint pains are more often caused by arthritis. There are many types of arthritis that can develop in old age. All of these types indicate that the joints are becoming worn down over time and are not attacking themselves. Joint pains can be referred to as an autoimmune disease. one in which the body attacks its own body. Sandhi Vata is the Ayurvedic term for arthritic joints pains. It is caused by the vitiation or the accumulation of vata dosha within the human body, as the name suggests. Sanskrit’s word for sandhi is “joint”.

Ayurveda

Ayurveda believes Sandhi Vata could be caused by rheumatisms, infections, hemophilias, trauma, and digestive problems that lead to ama buildup in the body. Alfalfa herb is extremely effective in reducing joint pains. It should be taken as a tea at least four times per day. Ashwagandha, also known as Winter Cherry in West Asia, is the most well-known herb. It has many positive properties that can be used to improve the health of the human body. It can be used to treat joint pains. The sap produced by the banyan tree is similar to that made from rubber latex. This can be used to cover the joints. After a few massages and regular applications, this oil relieves pain in the joints. T

o relieve pains in the joints, oil extracted from the bishop’s herb is applied to the affected areas. Gout and rheumatism can both be treated with celery. Celery is a more effective and lasting remedy for the problem. Celery’s alkaline content makes it an effective treatment for joint pains. Magnesium is a key element for proper mineralization of bones. Dandelion is high in magnesium.

Dandelion strengthens the bones and protects them against pains. Garlic is an effective treatment for joint pains. To get relief, you should eat five to six cloves each morning. The best treatment for joint pains is ginger. It should be included in the daily diet. It is also beneficial to drink ginger tea. Joint pains can be controlled with ginger and garlic. Some people find ginger’s odor to be too strong. The cloves of garlic can be lightly fried in butter to reduce the odor. All bitter tastes are good to arthritis. People can eat bitter gourd or bitter drumsticks with no worries. People suffering from joint pains should avoid sour foods as they can increase their vata.

Constipation can worsen the problem. Avoid foods that are difficult or impossible to digest. This applies to protein-rich foods like pulses. To prevent the vata from being further vitiated, foods should not be fried. Ayurveda prescribes different treatments for different types of joint pains. Ayurvedic doctors will first determine the cause of the pain before treating the patient. The doctor will then prescribe the right medication based on this information.

  • In Ayurveda, Rheumatism arthritis is called Ama Vata. It is caused by a low digestive fire which causes ama to remain in the body. It is treated by fasting and purgation. A mixture of punarnava and guggulu, galangala, garlic, and guggulu is then administered in one gram daily doses. Dashamoolarishta can also be taken in 15ml per day for three weeks.
  • Vishagarbha Taila is recommended for external application if the pain is caused by trauma. Internal administration is done by prescribing Rasnadi Guggulu or Guduchi tablets. These should be taken with 250 mgs of water, three times per day, or four times per day.
  • Osteoarthritis is a condition that affects people over 50 years of age. This condition is called Ashtigata Vata (in Sanskrit). Pravala Panchamrita and Lakshadi Guggulu are prescribed for this condition. For one month, the dosage is 125 mg twice daily and 250 mg thrice daily for three months. Before going to bed, massage the joints with a mixture menthol, eucalyptus and camphor. Drink a glass of carrot juice in the morning. Keep doing this until you feel less pain. This should take about a week. You shouldn’t exercise too much, but you shouldn’t let your joints become stiff. Do something with them to keep them active. Every morning, take a warm bath. This will improve blood circulation.

Joint Pain ABC

Arthralgia pain is a chronic, pulsating ache. It can be accompanied by stiffness in the affected joints, as well as redness or fever. Other symptoms include fatigue, sleeplessness, and a general feeling like you are tired. Some people with arthralgia may experience depression and/or anxiety in addition to their joint pain. Joint pain can occur suddenly or over a longer time. Arthralgia can often be treated in a variety ways. Mild cases can be successfully treated with a variety remedies. A hot tub can be a good option.

The heated water helps reduce swelling and inflammation. The heating water can also reduce swelling by elevating the affected joints. A health care professional may recommend certain exercises to increase muscle extension. The muscles of the joints can be strengthened and extended to help reduce swelling.

Remember

Mild joint pain and swelling can be reduced by activities like swimming, walking, and water aerobics. Joint pain is usually caused by overuse and strenuous activities. In these cases, moderation is key. Severe and constant joint pain could be a sign of more serious conditions. It is a good idea to seek medical attention if your arthralgia symptoms persist for a prolonged period of time or intensify. Joint pain examinations will usually involve blood work and xrays. Keep track of the time the pain started and how long it lasted.

Note what medications you took before and after the episodes. A complete medical and physical history is required to determine the root cause of your joint pain. In some cases, joint aspiration may be used. This involves taking a sample from the affected joint and testing it. This is a great way to detect gout and septic arthritis. Arthralgia, or joint pain, can be treated and won’t usually significantly impact a healthy lifestyle. It is important to research all options in order to manage the disease.
