Can Gout kill me?

Gout sufferers would rate it as eleven on a scale from one to ten, with ten being the highest. It’s best to stop it. Once you have stopped it, it is important to prevent it from happening again. Gout can’t cause you to die, but it can lead to other conditions. Excessive uric acid can cause damage to many parts of your body, including your kidneys and heart. Although it was initially believed that heart problems were the cause, new research suggests that gout can affect the heart.

Kidney Health

Your kidneys are responsible to filter out waste products from your blood stream. If your blood contains more uric acid than the kidneys can filter, it circulates and eventually forms crystals. When the crystals become too large to move, they build up in the joints and cause an attack. Patients with other serious conditions are also at higher risk. A good example is the diabetic and those who have had heart problems before being diagnosed.Take care if you have one of these conditions. With a few simple precautions, you may be able avoid it.

Take Note

  • Low Protein Diet: Protein is made up of a substance called purine. Uric acid is formed when protein is broken down. It is a good idea to avoid the worst offenders. These include organ and processed meats and certain types of seafood. The substance can also be found in vegetable protein, although it isn’t known if these foods pose the same risk factors.
  • Weight Control: Being overweight can increase your risk for many diseases, including this one. Your risk of developing many diseases can be reduced by being more aware of your weight.
  • Home Remedies: There is a lot you can do and a lot you shouldn’t. If you have this condition, don’t take aspirin and willow bark. Both can increase the amount of waste product and increase your chances of having problems. You should avoid certain types of tea. While green tea is safe to drink, black tea is usually not. I have bad news for you if your a coffaholic. Coffee can be problematic. Cherry juice is an alternative. Gout patients are often advised to take it. This can help to clear your system and ease the pain. You can do this with any dark red, purple, or blue fruit, including blueberries, grapes, and strawberries. Your overall health is your primary concern.
