Boswellia is able to reduce pain and immobility in gout patients. Sometimes, it can provided quick joint support and it is possible to see the powerful anti-inflammatory effects within one week.
But sometimes the effects of boswellia are not immediate. For some people, the first benefits of boswellia are usually seen after two weeks; in some cases, it may take up to four weeks. For others, to benefit from the advantages of this resin, it is necessary to take a course of treatment lasting several months. Generally, the first effects in the treatment of osteoarthritis are observed between 1 and 3 months of consumption.
Boswellia serrata is a safe plant without toxicity even at high doses. It is therefore possible to take it every day, taking care to respect the dosages recommended by the seller and/or the doctor. However, it is advisable to take a break of one week between each month of treatment.
You can use Boswellia in tablets, powder, essential oil and also as incense for burning. But, in general, to obtain good anti-inflammatory results, therapists who use it recommend opting for an extract that contains 70% boswellic acids and that is ingested at a rate of 300 mg of boswellia resin extract two to three times a day. Boswellia should be taken with meals, in 3 doses.
To relieve occasional inflammation, it is recommended to consume between 600 and 900 mg of boswellia per day. But, to treat an inflammatory pathology (osteoarthritis, arthritis, inflammation of the intestine…), the dose can go up to 1200 mg per day.
To act in depth on the inflammation, It is better to take 2 to 3 month cures. Be sure to space out each course of treatment by a few days.
How to take it?
In tablets: up to 3 per day for 400 mg tablets or capsules.
In powder: 1 level teaspoon per day.
In essential oil: only for external use. To be applied to the skin, previously diluted in a vegetable oil.
