Millions of people worldwide have experienced arthritis. Arthritis can be described as joint pain and inflammation. Although arthritis was thought to be a disease that affects only the elderly, it is now being recognized that it can also affect people younger than 60.   • Ashwagandha (withinia somnifera), – this herb has the ability to reduce pain and inflammation. It has properties that can help reduce the vata doesha, which is the main cause of all pains and inflammation. Ashwagandha, a medium-sized plant, can be found in areas with warmer climates. The plant parts used to make medicines are the roots of Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is usually taken as a powder, but it can also be purchased in capsules or syrup form.
  • Guggul (commiphora Mukul) – Guggul has been a highly regarded herb that is very popular among ayurvedic doctors. Guggul is a vata suppressant, and is widely used for treating vata-related disorders. Guggul is responsible for reducing pain and swelling in the body. There are many preparations such as mahayogaraja Guggul or laxadi Guggul, rasnadi Guggul or gokshuradi Guggul that can be used to reduce any type of pain in the body.
  • Rasna (pluchea luteolata – Rasna is a powerful analgesic that can be used to reduce pain. It is a small, versatile plant that can be used to make many types of preparations. It can be used in powder, decoction, and oils. It can reduce the body’s vata dosha and is highly effective in curbing it.
  • Arthcare oil – This ayurvedic preparation has been proven to be extremely effective in treating pain conditions such as arthritis, musculoskeletal disorders and backache, joint pains and wounds, among others.
