How To Manage Gout?

There are many things in life that can cause severe pain. Many people have a pain chart in their brains that lists the worst possible pain. Gout may be a ten-pointer if you have ever suffered from it. The suddenness of the first attack is one reason. You may feel fine one minute and then suddenly become nauseous when you think about touching your feet. Gout is a type of arthritis that is caused by a buildup in uric acid. The kidneys normally filter out this acid, but if it is too high or the kidneys fail to function properly, it can slip through and remain in the bloodstream.

Joint Pain

It builds up and forms sharp crystals that can be dropped into the joints. The crystals can cause inflammation and flare ups in the joints. To prevent further attacks, there are two things that you need to do. The first is to alter your diet. The second is to incorporate some exercise routine. It may be harder to find the right routine, especially if pain continues to linger. I would suggest looking into aquatic exercise. You can lose weight by swimming, doing water aerobics, or simply walking around the water.

You can also get some resistance training which will help you build muscle strength. You may not like the changes in your diet. You will only need to select your proteins carefully if your kidneys are healthy. You may need to restrict the amount of protein you consume if your kidneys are damaged. Protein is not limited to animal products. It can also be found in vegetables, but it will still perform the same functions. All vegetables contain some purine. This is because the body converts it to uric acid after it is broken down.

Dark Fruits

It could also be beneficial to increase the amount of dark fruits you eat. Cherry juice or tart cherries are the best. Blueberries, strawberries, and other fruits are also good options. All can reduce the acid content and act anti-inflammatory. Talk to your doctor if you have gout or are at high risk. A nutritionist may be referred to you to help you create a diet that will reduce your pain. Be sure to tell your doctor about any medical conditions and medications you are taking. This is important because some medications can cause flare-ups.
