Is there one Miracle Cure for Gout?

Gout Pain – Is there a single cure for all? Gout pain can be intense and painful, as any gout sufferer will tell you. Gout can strike quickly and without warning. Uric acid is produced by the body from the food we eat. The body produces a manageable amount. Any excess is dissolved into the blood stream and filtered through the kidneys before being passed to the urine. A buildup of uric acid in the joints can occur if our bodies produce more. Gout pain can become debilitating once an attack has occurred.

Gout Pain

Gout pain can become so severe that a bedsheet placed over the affected joint can cause extreme discomfort. Gout attacks can last for up to a week if they are not treated. Gout attacks that are not treated can become more frequent and result in permanent joint damage. Gout pain is most common in the big toe joint. However, it can also occur in the knee, ankle and elbow as well as the wrist, wrist, hands and hip joint.

Gout pain can be treated with both prescribed medication and natural remedies. Over the past 20 years, I have tried many. I tried many prescription drugs over the years, but they only worked occasionally. I was prescribed drugs to prevent gout, and had to take them daily. Despite being diligent, I still experienced frequent attacks. To reduce the pain, the doctor prescribed anti-inflammatory medications. It felt like I was going in circles, but getting nowhere.

Natural Remedies

Preventative medication was not working, and anti-infammatory medications were causing kidney damage. I began to look for other options. There were many natural remedies that I found to be effective. A few lifestyle changes were helpful, but nothing else. I found out there were other things I could do to help with my gout pain. Some of these treatments were effective within hours. I learned one thing in my time: not all treatments work for everyone with gout pain.

Is there a one-size-fits-all solution? I fear not. There are many options available, both via medication and natural remedies. So it’s not all lost.
