Do I have Arthritis?

There are many pain syndromes, including fibromyalgia, and arthritis-related disorders like systemic lupus. These affect every part of the body. There are mild forms of tendinitis, such as the ‘tennis elbow’, and more severe forms like bursitis and rheumatoid. There are many forms of the disease, including gout, that almost nobody associates with this condition. And there are other conditions, like osteoarthritis (or the misnamed wear and tear arthritis), that many people believe is the only type of the disease.

Arthritis

How can you tell if you have arthritis? Although symptoms and severity can vary, the most common symptoms of arthritis are pain, swelling and tenderness. Osteoarthritis is characterized as progressive stiffness, without swelling, chills, or fever. Rheumatoid arthritis refers to the painful swelling, inflammation, and stiffness in the fingers and wrists. It can be found on both the right and left sides of the body.

They are often more severe in the morning. Juvenile rheumatoid is a condition that affects children with a fever, weight loss, on-off symptoms, and a blotchy rash around the arms and legs. If symptoms are sudden or accompanied by a fever, you should consult your doctor immediately. There are many misconceptions about arthritis. One is that patients experience the same symptoms every day.

Chronic Pain

This type of chronic pain is not always constant, so it can be difficult to diagnose.

  • is that arthritis affects only the elderly. In some cases, children can experience this type of pain.
  • Arthritis is often caused by cold, rain or poor nutrition.
  • There is no clear cause and effect, but there are many contributing factors, including age, weight, anatomy, joint infection, and trauma.

Some people believe that joint replacement surgery (arthroplasty), should be avoided as long as possible. The surgery is still considered a viable option for patients who are unable to exercise, do physical therapy or take medication. Methotrexate is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. It slows down the progression and restores some function.
