How to heal Carpal-Tunnel-Syndrome?

Ms. P, a successful manager in a top IT company, was driving home from a tiring meeting at work. Lately, she noticed a slight weakness in her wrist and two fingers, particularly when writing or holding a phone receiver for a long time. She began experiencing severe tingling, numbness, and stitching-type pains in her palm while driving the car. After a while, she was unable to drive the car efficiently and had no choice but to try to get home safely. She immediately saw a neurologist who confirmed that it was the classic case of ‘Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

CTS

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), a compressive neuropathy, is characterized by weakness and pain in both the wrist and hand. It can be a minor inconvenience or a severe condition. The cause, treatment and maintaining factors will determine the severity of the condition. CTS is so common that 500,00 people have it in the US alone. The carpal tunnel is located at base of the palm. It is bordered on three sides by the carpal bones, and anteriorly by transverse carpal ligament. The median nerve, flexor and synovial sheaths, as well as the flexor tendons, are located inside.

CTS is primarily caused by compression of a median nerve at the wrist due to swelling or growth of flexor synovium. CTS pain is often secondary to the actual physical injury. It is common in families.

Obesity

Obesity is a sudden increase in weight. Repetitive wrist joint movement is a common occupation, such as piano players or typing. Diabetes, hypothyroidism and rheumatoid are all possible medical conditions. It is more common in middle-aged women. Carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms usually develop slowly over weeks, months, and sometimes even years. For a diagnosis, anyone suffering from persistent or recurrent pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness in the hand should consult a doctor. Initial symptoms include pain in your wrist and palm sidehand.

Symptoms can occur in both hands. The patient may also report numbness, burning, tingling, or some combination thereof on the palm side of their index, middle, or ring fingers. These sensations can radiate to the shoulder or forearm. The hand can become numb over time and patients may lose their ability to feel heat or cold. Patients may feel weak and have a tendency to drop items. Patients may feel their hands swollen, even though there is no visible swelling. This sign may be a sign of more severe CTS. CTS can be diagnosed with a simple X-ray.

Allopathy

Allopathic drugs provide temporary pain relief, and surgery is not recommended in most cases of CTS. A homeopathic remedy can be used to treat CTS by reducing the edema or nerve compression. The duration of therapy will vary depending on the severity of the condition, the depth of the affection, and the presence of concomitant medical conditions.

It usually takes 6-8 months to see significant relief. I have found that both locally and constitutional remedies such as Hypericum, Guiacum (or Paris quadr), Hypericum, Causticum, or Rhustox have provided relief. The most important symptoms to get from the patient are: type of pain, side effects, causative factors and modalities.
