Why is my Foot in Pain?

Knowing the cause of pain is enough to make it worse. Uncertainty and stress can make it worse. There are many conditions that can cause foot problems. Some of these are easy to diagnose. It may take a careful x-ray or an MRI to diagnose other problems. Arthritis can cause foot pain in three ways. Gout is the most obvious and easiest to spot. Gout is characterized by intense pain, reddened toes and swelling. This diagnosis hinges on the time and speed of the onset. Most sufferers go to sleep feeling fine, but wake up in the middle the next morning in pain. The diagnosis can be confirmed by blood and urine tests.

Let’s see…

Osteoarthritis refers to the general wear and tear on joints. It can also be caused from an earlier injury. Rheumatoid is a condition where your body doesn’t recognize healthy parts and attacks them. Plantar Fasciitis is a condition that causes pain in the heel. This pain is caused by the ligaments connecting your heel and your toes. This ligament can become damaged if you are prone to injury, particularly if your gait is poor, have difficulty walking, are overweight, or have high arches. It is most painful when you stand or walk.

Stress Fractures: Your feet are subject to a lot of abuse. The delicate bones can be broken by standing, walking, running, and other activities, especially near the toes. These fractures can be painful but if they are not treated quickly, larger fractures may occur that require longer healing. Tendinitis is a condition where four tendons can become inflamed in your feet. It can take a while for the tendon to heal, which is more common in older people. It can cause permanent damage to your tendon and pain for you if it is not treated.

Conclusion

It is crucial to get a proper diagnosis for foot pain. Although some of these conditions will likely have similar treatment options, they won’t always be the same. Aspirin can be used to treat tendinitis but it will only make the problem worse if you have gout. These differences can make all the difference. It is important to inform your doctor about any medical conditions or medications you are taking. This will help to avoid drug/herb interactions as well as dangerous side effects.
