Are there Natural Ways to treat Gout?

Gout treatment is as easy as looking through your fridge and cupboards. Gout can be treated with many common ingredients found in most kitchens. Research is showing that many of the oldest remedies to gout work because they flush out uric acid and the uric stones that cause this condition. This disease can be treated naturally, so don’t be skeptical. Gout is caused by excess uric acids. The only way to treat the disease is to flush the uric acids and flush the uric crystals from the inflamed joints. There are many foods and ingredients that can neutralize or flush out uric acid. You can also change your diet to avoid eating foods that increase uric acid.

Natural Remedies

Here are five natural ways to treat gout.

  • Begin your home treatment with soaking the foot (or large toe) in Epson salt, or a mixture of apple cider vinegar/water. Both of these treatments can reduce inflammation and neutralize the crystals of uric acid. To soothe the joints and muscles, soak the joint in warm water for at least 30 mins. The Epson salt’s magnesium is believed to be what relaxes the joint.
  • Gout can be treated by neutralizing uric acids. This can be done by eating a few cups strawberries and cherries. Cherry juice is more readily available than strawberries, so I recommend cherries to my customers. Both of these fruits are essential for home treatments. The acid is neutralized by a compound found in cherries and berries. The study also revealed that kidney stones can be treated with cherries and strawberries.
  • Water is a great option to flush out uric acid from the body and joints. If you have this disease, you should drink at least 125 ounces water per day. Drink water throughout the day to lower your uric level through dilution.
  • Bioflavonoids and ascorbic acid (also known as vitamin C) are your best friends. Both have been shown to reduce inflammation associated with this form of arthritis. You should increase your intakes of citrus fruits, tomatoes, green peppers and leafy greens.
  • There are other things you should avoid. Avoid eating animal-based foods like meat, seafood, and dairy. They often contain high levels of purines. Purines will eventually be broken down to uric acids, which can cause more pain. After you have cured gout, you can eat meat and dairy again. Get your protein from nuts and legumes. Peanut butter, almonds, tofu, and soy nuts are all very beneficial!
