What are Natural Supplements good for?

Supplements and natural remedies are not considered drugs because they don’t claim to cure, prevent, or treat certain conditions. The use of the words “assists”, “helps,” “can minimize” in the descriptions does not mean that any claim to cure or control could be made. They can only claim to cure symptoms, such as being tired and lethargic or lacking energy. It is illegal to market or make claims about a supplement as a cure or treatment for any disease. This is dependent on the country you live in and the Government controls. It is obvious that supplements, dietary or otherwise, will be legal in most countries based on what the label claims.

Omega 3

If science has shown that omega 3 can lower blood pressure and improve mental vitality, then how difficult will it be to make products based on basic nutritional facts gleaned from science, published in journals, etc. Take these cheap products and give them a name. Then, you can cash in on one the most lucrative markets in all of the world. Anyone who has ever used supplements will know that they work. Some are more noticeable than others. All natural minerals, vitamins and other supplements are preferred by consumers over hard chemical compound drugs prescribed by doctors.

The consumer now has all the information they need and will attempt to find a natural remedy for their ailments. If you have just returned from the doctor and were diagnosed with hypertension or another such condition, nine out of ten patients will go online to search for information about hypertension and how to treat it. As an extension, you might also consider a natural supplement to your prescribed medication. This is something you should not do as it could prove fatal. In 2004, I was unable to walk after waking up one morning. After three days of intense pain, I finally went to the doctor. I was diagnosed with hypertension, Gout, and a liver problem. I was prescribed three drugs to control my blood pressure and one to lower my acidity. I also received some liver tablets that I only needed for 60 days. This is why it is so important to read all labels and printed leaflets that come with any medication or supplement.

Side Effects

To find out about possible side effects and what I can or cannot eat while taking my medication, I carefully read the leaflets that came with it. As I was reading the information leaflet regarding my hypertension, I found the warnings. To limit manufacturers liability, warnings are often very broad in their descriptions. My point is that, aside from all the other ailments, you shouldn’t use the medication with Gout. So back to the doctor I went as I had gout and this could potentially be dangerous. He prescribed me another drug, and I went to the pharmacy to read the leaflet. It turned out that I was compatible with that drug. One thing I noticed, and whether it was the drug company trying to limit its liability once more, was that both my long-term medications had very severe and frightening side effects, which could cause damage to my liver and kidneys. I realized why I had to take the 60-day course of tablets for my liver.

It was clearly not in good health and the medication it was receiving was not going to do it any favors long-term. I made the decision to stop taking those tablets and to find a natural, less harmful way to manage my afflictions. I found a solution that worked for me. I was off my gout medication in two months. I only had to stay on my hypertension medication because my head might explode. The multivitamin is pretty self-explanatory. The omega 3 helps lower blood pressure, and the antioxidant helps with joint issues. If they claimed it could cure these ailments, it would cost ten-times more and require a prescription. It all boils down to quality.

If you use the product for a while, you should see improvement. Tell your doctor about your progress, but don’t stop taking your medication without his or her permission. I, for one, did not stop taking my main medication because I didn’t want to risk my life. However, as I write this today, I no longer take any medication for hypertension. To maintain the status quo, I will continue to take my multivitamin, omega3 and antioxidant. My doctor was still concerned about my blood pressure at my last check-up. However, considering that I only see him once a Christmas when I suffer from my annual gout attack due to all the family gatherings stressing me, I believe I have added a few years to my liver and kidneys.

Fish Oil

Let’s face facts. We all know about the many benefits of fish oil supplements. Omega-3 fatty acids can be used to treat almost any condition. A diet high in these nutrients could help people avoid becoming dependent on prescription drugs. It is amazing what omega-3 fat acids can do to your health. Numerous clinical studies have shown that these nutrients are effective in relieving symptoms such as arthritis, gout, diabetes, and inflammation bowel disease. They have great cardiovascular benefits, are effective in treating allergies, improve brain and visual function, as well as providing excellent cardiovascular benefits.

The Omega-3 fatty acid is also thought to be a protective agent against breast and prostate cancer. These acids have only been studied for 40 years, and we are just beginning to understand how important they are. It would have been long ago that we realized how effective omega-3 fat acids are in preventing diseases and prolonging life expectancy. The power of omega-3 fatty acids is demonstrated by the living examples of the Inuits and coastal Japanese. These people eat a diet that consists mainly of seafood, despite their location. Despite their high intake of fat, they are virtually free from heart disease. Heart disease is a very common condition among the rest of us. We need to be aware of the dietary habits of these people in order to maintain our own health.

Did you know?

Consuming fish oil reduces blood triglycerides, which are fats that have been linked to cardiovascular disease. It lowers the amount of LDL cholesterol in the blood, which is small and dense, and increases the LDL cholesterol levels in the blood, which are larger and more buoyant. This has been shown to have no adverse effects on health. Supplementing with fish oil can also lower mild hypertension if it is caused by cardiovascular disease. It also prevents hardening the arteries. Fish oil prevents platelets from sticking together, which reduces the chance of blood clots.

Fish oil’s DHA content has been shown to lower heart rate and prevent arrhythmias. This lowers the chance of sudden death due to a heart attack. A diet high in omega-3 fatty acids is also beneficial for circulatory problems like Raynaud’s Disease and varicose veins. Raynaud’s disease, a vascular disorder, affects blood flow to extremities in response to stress or cold temperatures. Fish oil increases circulation and decreases fibrin. This compound is responsible for scar tissue and clot formation. It is true. Your life can be transformed by taking fish oil supplements on an everyday basis. Omega-3 fatty acids have many other health benefits than those I listed. Consider giving dietary fish oils supplementation a chance. It could make a huge difference in your life.
